Handy at Home for Personalized Touches
- Cindy Ahmed, artist/inventor
As an artist, I love the bright colors and convenience of RainbowBrush® markers for borders, lettering, and colored in areas of signs, school drawings, greeting cards, and even home decor on porous surfaces.
As a parent, I love RainbowBrush® because I'm busy and like to do things fast. I can quickly make up a personalized birthday card for my daughter's friend if I forgot to buy one. I just fold some heavyweight copy paper in half and find out if she likes fish, birds or flowers and put it into her initials. Or, I can keep my seven year old son busy, while he's waiting for me to finish my food at a restaurant, by showing him how to do a simple turtle with a twist of the wrist, head, feet and tail. I then let him experiment with different colors and patterns on the turtle shells.
I've also used RainbowBrush to decorate wooden boxes from the craft store, made name banners for the kids to hang over their beds so they feel special whenever they look at them. Kids usually don't know or mind if you made a mistake because they love the blended colors, the meaning of the animal characters and the fact that you cared enough to try.
Check out the Inspiring Ideas section of each RainbowBrush® book for idea photos and how-to's. After all, a picture says a thousand words!
Artsy Kids Watch Less TV, Do Better in School.
What do kids do with their time? And does it make a difference in their grades?
It certainly does!
Research shows that teens who are highly involved in the visual and performing arts are almost twice as likely to watch TV for an hour or less on weekdays than students who are less involved in the arts. Students with little arts participation tend to watch TV for three or more hours on school days.
Arts-involved students score much better on standardized tests than students with little arts participation.
Gather the family around the kitchen table to share thoughts and feelings through art. Find art activities for parties, rainy days, or any day. You will find many fun creative project ideas by exploring our website. Let your imagination go wild with our rainbow art.
Our goal is to teach children how to make the alphabet, numbers or animals pictures with our markers. The RainbowBrush® markers and books encourage new thinking about colors, help kids write the alphabet in a creative way and can help early childhood development.
