Question:
I just bought a new RainbowBrush book and found that the markers dried. / I left my markers uncapped. What do I do?
Answer:
1. Add a couple of drops of water to the
dry nib and let it absorb the water. (You can use a medicine or eye-dropper.)
2. Put the cap on and wait a few minutes.
Question:
My marker is running out of ink and I’m not finished with my painting yet.
Answer:
1. Add a drop of water to the nibs (just
enough to get the ink flowing).
2. Don’t add too much; otherwise, the ink will be too light. This should last
until you finish your art.
Question
Why can’t I squeeze or make the nibs touch to make gapless lines?
Answer
1. Try using two markers first. Once you master two, then try more.
2. Make sure you hold the markers on the rubber sleeve and squeeze them like tweezers.
3. If you squeeze above the sleeves, the nibs simply won’t touch.
4. Gaps close and colors blend more easily as you paint more and the nibs get softer.
Question:
It looks like my markers have leaked. There is ink on the rubber sleeve.
Answer:
1. This happens when the nib rubs against the cap.
2. Or the markers have been dropped. Simply wipe the sleeve with a tissue.
Question:
My child can’t squeeze the markers.
Answer:
1. Wrap a rubber band around the nib holders of two markers.
2. Make sure the nibs are even and the band is not too tight.
3. Remove the rubber band as soon as your child is done using the markers or your nibs will get muddy.
Question:
A nib came out. What do I do?
Answer:
1. Don’t panic. The nib might be stuck in the cap if you twisted the cap.
2. Simply put the nib back in the nib holder.
3. Next time, pull the cap straight off.
Question:
I can’t follow the step-by-step figures for an animal.
Answer:
1. Follow the arrows and text.
2. Put a piece of tracing paper or clear plastic sheet over the step-by-step figures and trace them with one marker.
3. Trace strokes until you’ve memorized them, then repeat them on a different piece of paper without tracing.
